Who Does Pastel Hair Suit?
Pastel hair is really versatile and complements lots of tones. But it’s most suited for those with light brown or hazel eyes, as it flatters brown hues and gives added depth of colour. Pastel hair is perfect if you want to draw attention to your eyes, making the brown hue really pop. You can read more about which hair colours suit your eye colour here!
How to wear your pastels
These sherbety shades work best work best on bleached, blonde or pre-lightened hair but where you place your pastels is up to you! The wash in - wash out colour is perfect for those looking for a short term pick me up or a quick fix when roots start to show or ends start to fade.
Lasting up to eight washes you can choose to add some magic to the ends for an alternative dip-dye, try subtle streaks for soft flashes of colour or go for an all-over root to tip pastel rinse. Either way, the effects will be mesmerising and alluring.
Getting the Look - Semi-Permanent
If you haven’t already got lightened or natural light blonde hair, now’s the time to get pre-lightening with one of our LIVE Intense Lighteners. If you’ve already got colour on your hair, you may need to grow this out before attempting to bleach at home (depending on your current shade and frequency of dyeing).
Your hair should be clean and damp before your start and you’ll need to wear the in-pack gloves, and have an old towel around the shoulders to help prevent staining. Putting some petroleum jelly on your hairline and around your ears will also help to stop any skin from getting coloured.
For all over colour carefully squeeze the Colour Cream onto your gloved hand and apply directly onto damp hair. Start at the back of your head and work towards the front. Ensure that you colour your fringe last. Keep the gloves for when you rinse.
For an ombre style squeeze the required amount of Colour Cream into a non-metallic bowl . Take the section of hair that you wish to colour and place a foil strip underneath. Dip the brush into the bowl containing the Colour Cream and brush the tips of the hair with it. Then fold the foil strip so that the tips are wrapped in the foil. To ensure that the foil stays in place, use hair clips.
To get pastel highlights squeeze the required amount of Colour Cream into a non-metallic bowl. Start application from the back. Select the hair sections that you want to colour and place a foil strip underneath each one, close to the roots. Dip the applicator brush into the Colour Cream and brush onto your chosen hair section. Then fold the foil strip and press firmly so that the hair section is wrapped in the foil.
